Tantalum (Ta) Nanopowder General Descriptions


A black powder composed of high-surface particles of tantalum ranging from 10 to 80nm in diameter, tantalum nanopowder has seen extensive use and 

research for its applications in electronics. The material also offers value to manufacturing and research in fields ranging from metalworking to luxury goods, 

making it one of the better-utilized nanomaterials.



Tantalum ( Ta ) Nanopowder Applications


  •      •  Manufacture of electronic components. Primarily used in the manufacture of capacitors such as the tantalum electrolytic capacitor. Tantalum nanoparticles 
  •         have also been utilized to good effect as materials for certain high power resistors.

  •      •  Production of alloys. Added to other metals, tantalum nanopowder imparts a number of benefits. In many cases it helps to produce alloys with exceptionally 
  •        high melting points, good ductility, and high overall strength. Being bioinert and its unique electronic properties are also of value in some alloy production applications.

  •      •  Luxury watches. High end watch manufacturers such as Parenai have utilized tantalum in the manufacture of their timepieces. As it doesn’t agitate most skin, 
  •         resists most chemicals, is aesthetically pleasing, and offers a degree of novelty to a largely stagnant art, tantalum nanoparticles work as an ideal material in 
  •         the production of watch components and other wearable technology.

  •      •  Bioinert applications. For much the same reason it works admirably in timepieces, tantalum nanoparticles have seen extensive use and intense research as
  •         an implant material. Bioinert, chemical resistant, and relatively easy to work with, tantalum nanopowder has already seen use in the manufacture of orthopaedic
  •         implants and promises further applications as research and engineering advances
