166Ho radionuclide incorporated nanospheres and microspheres
    This section of Catalog describes the Nuc-Spheretm products from Corpuscular.    These proprietary materials and their methods of preparation and using are patent pending.    The monodisperse nanosphere and microsphere particles radionuclide-carriers are for research purposes only.
     
    We offer various Core diameter and coating thickness "cold" nanospheres which upon irradiation in nuclear reactor produce highly concentrated radionuclide concentration useful for diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
     
    Silica surfaces are easily functionalized with OH, NH2 and COOH groups, used to conjugate to antibodies.
     
    NuP-Spheretm products will be sold only to customers with valid licenses for work with radioactive materials from authorized government and state agencies of respective countries.
     
    ■   Properties of Holmium-166 radionuclide
    Ebeta (max.) = 1.85 MeV
    β5- = 651.9 keV (47.7% abundance) and
    β6- = 694.6 keV (51.0% abundance)
    Soft tissue penetration -average 3.2 mm, depositing 0.2 keV/mm.    The total equilibrium dose constants Dnp and Dp for non-penetrating and penetrating radiations of 166-Ho are 0.398 g Gy Mbq-1h-1 and 0.017 g Gy Mbq-1h-1, respectively.
    166-Ho therapeutic radius is ~2.1 mm, and the maximum radius is ~8.7 mm).
    Half-life of 26.808 h,
    Gamma emissions with suitable energies and abundance  :  E = 0.081 MeV (6.2%)   and   E = 1.379 MeV (0.95%).
