OTF-1500X-UL series furnace are UL/TUVstandard split-able mullite tube furnaces with SiC heating elements. The furnace can be installed with 2", 3" and 4" O.D high-quality mullite tubes along with a pair of smart stainless steel vacuum sealing flanges that can take either a valve / gauge which allows for heating samples under vacuum or flowing gas conditions up to 1500°C. The precision temperature controller can provide 30 segments heating and cooling steps with +/- 1°C accuracy.  
Note#1: Updated from GSL-1500X-OTF with UL standard components and  Vertical SiC rod since 6-24- 2015
Note#2:  New safety feature: An interlock system has been integrated into the furnace structure since June.2015

Pressure Measurement / Monitoring

  •      •  Standard mechanical vacuum gauge measures within a pressure range of -0.1 to 0.15Mpa.
  •      •  OPTIONAL: A gas-type independent (above 10mbar) digital vacuum gauge with a wide range

     3.8x10-5 to 1125 Torr. Aside from greater measurement precision, this gauge 
             reduces risks of chamber explosions

  •      •  The tube furnaces with mullite tube are designed for using under vacuum and low pressure
            < 0.02 Mpa / 0.2 Bar/ 3 PSI 
  •      •  Attention: A pressure regulator must be installed on your input gas tank ( click the picture below
            to review ) and have the gas output pressure set below 3 PSI at all times after opening the gas
            tank with the gas maintained in a continuous flowing condition. Gas build up with pressure levels
            exceeding over 3 PSI may cause irreversible damage to the furnace chamber.  
  •      •  Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure condition
            exists within the furnace chamber. The pressure gauge must be used to closely monitor the
            chamber condition at all times during the heating process; please open the gas release valve
             immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable
             damages.
  •      •  The flow rate for gasses should be limited to < 200 SCCM ( or 200ml/min )
  •      •  Vacuum limit definition for all mullite tube furnaces: * Vacuum pressures may only be safely
            used up to 1300°C
  •      •  NOTE The mullite tube shall be considered as a consumable part. We strongly recommend
            user keep spare tubes to ensure the continuity of operation. The tube is not covered by
            Warranty.

Attention Notes

  • Performance degradation (i.e. furnace can not reach the maximum temperature 1500
    °C, or it is drawing a higher than normal working current) can be expected due to the use of aged SiC heating elements. It is necessary to replace all the heating elements if the above symptoms were seen. Please order the replacements from the standard package list in below.
