MSK-TE500 is a precision nail penetration tester driven by a DC motor with variable speeds from 0.01 to 500 mm/minute, and a penetration force of max. 50 KN for battery research.  The tester is controlled by a laptop computer with 0.005 mm position accuracy and is built inside an explosion-proof chamber with automatic pressure relief.

 Heating Chamber

  • A convection heating oven with inside dimensions 350x350x350mm is put on the bottom

  • The nail can pass through the oven via the hole on the top of the oven
  • 30 segments programmable temperature controller is included at a remote location with +/- 1oC accuracy
  • Max. working temperature 200oC
  • One 2" venting port is included for connecting to the lab venting system
  •  One 1" cable feedthrough port  is included for connecting related  electronic device
  • One 1/4" ss tube with a solenoid valve is inserted into the tube and connected N2 tank. Once the oven temperature > 250oC, N2 gas will blow N2 gas into the oven to reduce firing

Control Panel

  • The device is controlled by a remote laptop computer to program penetration speed and depth
